White Fillings
If you are suffering from decay, Tooth Coloured Fillings are an excellent way to restore your teeth and keep your beautiful natural-looking smile.

Many people have amalgam (silver) fillings that have progressively blackened over time and caused staining of the teeth. Although amalgam is a functional material it does have several disadvantages. The most obvious problem is its unsightly appearance.
There are numerous reasons why older restorations may need replacing, and we can use these newer, more aesthetic materials to effectively remove the unsightly presence of amalgam fillings. Many patients are surprised at how much lighter and brighter their smile is after this replacement.
Tooth Coloured Fillings look natural and healthy. Most Tooth Coloured Fillings are made from Composite Resin that can be placed in a single visit. Composite Resin Fillings are also bonded to the tooth surface, meaning the joins are sealed preventing further decay of the surrounding tooth structure.
The use of Tooth Coloured Fillings is not limited to new restorations. Teeth that are filled with older style amalgam fillings are at a high risk of fracturing, but can now be replaced with composite resin or porcelain.
In the past, Tooth Coloured Fillings were used only in front teeth because they are not strong enough to withstand the pressure and daily wear produced at the back teeth. Today, since composite resin has been significantly improved, white fillings can be used on every part of the teeth whether at the front or in the back.

But why do I need a Filling?
You may need a filling if you have a cavity or tooth decay. This is a hole in your tooth that has grown bigger and deeper over time. Cavities will occur if you do not brush and floss your teeth regularly. It is important to have cavities repaired as soon as possible to prevent further damage and save the tooth.
